The Cool Beans Bank Holiday Banger.

Every now and again somebody tells you that you don’t have to go to work on the day that you usually go to work. You’re filled with so much excitement your natural instinct is to hit the nearest party-cabin and shake your limbs until the early hours of the morning. It’s a fun-filled experience all around.

Now here at Cool Beans we’ve decided that one event just simply isn’t enough for the next night-before-a-bank-holiday. On the 28th of March 2013 we’ll be filling up both the Bowery and the Leadmill with the finest musical groovings.

Starting up the night is a free entry event at the Bowery alongside alongside First Word Records. We last collaborated with them for Tramlines 2012 and we’re overjoyed to be doing it again. Here’s the plan: three live acts, three DJs, delicious cocktails and some of the best looking bar staff this town has to offer!

THE INDECISION

Leeds based seven piece with their music firmly based in 1960s ska and rocksteady with an incredibly strong debut EP already under their belts. They blew the roof off the Cool Beans Peace in the Park fundraiser back in June and we’re delighted to have them coming back for a free show.

JACK ATHEY SOUL QUARTET

Local crooner Jack Athey specially selected a backing band for his next project in an X-Factor style set up so you know for a fact that they’re good. For one night only they’ll be performing as the Jack Athey Soul Quarter. Here’s Jack giving us a stripped down version of two of his tracks for Cool Beans TV…

SOUL LOVE COLLECTIVE

Cool Beans and First Word Records have both always been about representing the finest musical talent these streets have to offer, and with that in mind it’s certainly exciting to be showcasing a debut performance from The Soul Love Collective. Based in Sheffield but with members hailing from places as far as Argentina, Poland and Catalonia they describe their style as having soul/jazz/nu-groove/reggae vibes.
